Helping Australia in the Wake of Extreme Wildfires

What's so significant about the current wildfires in Australia? Below are some facts to give you an overview as well as links to organizations where you can donate.


To put the current Australian fires in perspective, here in the US in an average year about 7 million acres of land are burned by wildfires. In 2017, about 10 million acres of land were burned in the US. In comparison, this season in Australia wildfires have already burned nearly 16 million acres. Additionally, at least 24 people have been killed and an estimated 480 million animals in New South Wales alone could die as a result of the wildfires.
